Shockwave Therapy
Okay guys, don’t get scared by the name. LiSWT, low-intensity shockwave therapy is a noninvasive therapy that has been in practice for years to help heal broken bones, injured ligaments, and injured tendons.
So how does it work? The “shockwaves” are low-intensity soundwaves that are administered with a wand-like device along several areas of the penis. The shockwaves induce microtraumas which the body in turn heals and regenerates. This process improves vascular function which helps the process of maintaining a natural erection. As of right now there is no established recommendation of treatment period or frequency. It has been found that most commonly the treatment plan was twice a week for 3 weeks, 3 weeks off, then another 3 week twice weekly treatment.
Taking a pill is all well and good but the fact of the matter is that only treats the symptom of E.D. and not the underlying problem. Also after enough time the effectiveness of some medications may decrease due to further vascular deteroriation in the penis. LiSWT can now be done at the doctors office or at home using new products on the market.
